Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ, diploma or degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in manufacturing or livestock operations
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of machinery and equipment
- Inspect equipment, identify mechanical faults and coordinate repairs
- Respond to breakdowns and help minimize operational downtime
- Maintain maintenance schedules, work orders and service records
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and internal departments when required
- Monitor spare parts and maintenance materials
- Ensure maintenance work follows health, safety and environmental standards
- Identify recurring issues and recommend practical improvements
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of machinery, equipment, maintenance methods and safety practices
- Ability to identify faults and carry out troubleshooting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and respond to maintenance needs
