Design Studio Manufacturing (Pvt) Ltd is hiring a Head of Audit & Compliance for its apparel operations. The role leads the company’s audit and compliance framework, ensuring strong internal controls, regulatory adherence and ethical business practices, working with senior management and key departments to safeguard compliance with local laws and international buyer requirements.

- Working days: Monday to Friday (7.30 AM to 5.30 PM)

Studio 21 and the Design Studio group are described as names synonymous with the end-to-end sourcing of high-end ladies’ wear for UK and European high street retailers, with a head office in Sri Lanka and a Sales & Marketing office in London.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field (MBA or professional qualification such as CA / CIMA / ACCA preferred)
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience, with at least 3 years in a senior audit/compliance leadership role, preferably in the apparel or manufacturing sector
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the internal and external audit functions across factories, the head office and subsidiaries
- Develop and execute risk-based audit plans covering financial, operational and compliance areas
- Ensure adherence to Sri Lankan statutory requirements (Labour Law, BOI, Customs, Tax, EPF/ETF, Environmental & Safety standards)
- Monitor and enforce compliance with global buyer codes of conduct (WRAP, SEDEX, BSCI, ISO standards, etc.)
- Identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies to management and the board
- Report audit findings and compliance risks to senior management and the Audit Committee
- Drive standardization of processes, policies and compliance frameworks
- Build awareness and provide training on compliance and ethical practices across the organization
- Lead, mentor and develop the audit and compliance team
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan statutory requirements and international compliance standards (WRAP, SEDEX, BSCI, SA8000, ISO, ESG frameworks)
- Proven expertise in risk management, forensic auditing and internal control systems
- Excellent communication, analytical and leadership skills
- High ethical standards, integrity and confidentiality
