Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, particularly in civil construction and steel building projects
- HND in Quantity Surveying or NVQ Level 6 qualification in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
Key Responsibilities
- Checking contractor bills and payment claims
- Taking and verifying site measurements
- Preparing engineering BOQs, cost estimates and quantity take-offs
- Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Assisting with cost control and variation assessments
- Monitoring project costs against approved budgets
- Maintaining accurate quantity surveying records and documentation
- Coordinating with project teams, contractors and suppliers to ensure cost efficiency
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of BOQ preparation, cost estimation and construction costing
- Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
