Qualifications & Experience
- NIOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, or an OHS-related qualification/certification such as NEBOSH or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience as an Occupational Health & Safety Officer
- Experience in the automotive, mechanical or engineering industry will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) policies, procedures and safety practices
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards
- Recommend and follow up on corrective and preventive actions to eliminate unsafe conditions and practices
- Coordinate and support First Aid, Fire Safety and Emergency Response activities
- Monitor compliance with legal, regulatory and company safety requirements
- Investigate incidents and near misses, and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Drive safety awareness initiatives and promote a positive safety culture throughout the factory
Required Skills
- Practical knowledge of workplace safety, hot work, risk assessment, incident prevention, emergency response and safety compliance will be an advantage
- Ability to conduct safety training sessions, toolbox talks and awareness programmes for employees and contractors
