Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent certification with demonstrated field experience will be considered
- NEBOSH National / International General Certificate, OSHA 30, or equivalent HSE certification required
- 5-8 years of progressive experience in occupational health and safety, with at least 3 years in the construction or heavy civil industry
- Demonstrated experience developing HSE management systems and leading incident investigations
- Familiarity with Bahamian occupational health and safety legislation and regulatory bodies is an asset
- Experience working in The Bahamas or Caribbean construction market is strongly preferred
- Valid passport required, with the ability to travel internationally for work purposes as needed
- Willingness to relocate to The Bahamas
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain the company’s health, safety and environmental management system
- Conduct regular site safety audits, inspections and risk assessments across all active project sites
- Ensure compliance with Bahamian occupational health and safety legislation and applicable industry standards
- Maintain HSE records, statistics and reporting for senior management and regulatory authorities
